Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a brief explanation of some of the questions you may have about this message board.

Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a followup?

Colons appear in the message dialog box when you try to followup up on a message to indicate that those lines are quoting the previous document.

Why didn't my post show up?

Click on the reload or refresh button on your browser, and then it should appear. If that doesn't work, hold the shift and click the reload at the same time. The reason for this is as follows:

Your browser stores the pages you have seen on your hard drive in something called the cache. When you want to see a page again it reloads the page from the cache, rather than downloading it again from the server, because it's much faster this way. But if the page has changed, then the one in the cache is not the most current version. When you click on reload, you are telling the browser that you want to reload the most current page from the server, rather than viewing the old one stored in the cache. Every time you post something you are changing the page, so you need to see the most current version.
